Extralife Outsoles are made from a rubber compound that is largely based on Natural Rubber and higher weight percent of reinforcement materials like Carbon Black, Silica etc, which imparts superior abrasion resistance and durability characteristics
Our recycled rubber base is derived from tires and futher reformulated with fillers to make a superior viscoelastic outsole that seemlessly adapts to the ground surface and opposes slipages.
ExtraLife outsoles are produced from recycled rubber (50% - 100% of base recycled rubber), which is obtained from end-of-life tires using a patented technology. We aim to address concerns of tire waste management and environmental damage from use of new petroleum-based materials in shoe production.
The higher proportions of Natural Rubber and reinforment agents like carbon black, silica etc. in ExtraLife Outsoles allows them to have increased elasticity/ flexibility and tensile strength and resistance to wear-and-tear.
Extralife outsoles are reformulated to make the outsole "oil-resistant" for safety and industrial shoes while meeting various regulations and safety requirements.
ExtraLife Outsoles are made from "real rubber": Natural Rubber, SBR, etc., which undergoes vulcanization during the manufacturing process. Hence, our Outsoles exhibit sturdy physical and chemical properties desired in safety, outdoor, and athletic shoes. We do not use "imitation rubber" materials like PU, EVA etc.
